Florissant is a second-ring suburb of St. Louis, located in northern St. Louis County, Missouri. Money Magazine ranked Florissant one of the top 100 Best Places to Live in 2012. As of the 2010 United States census, the population reaching just over 52,000, making it the 12th largest city in Missouri. French settlers called it “Fleurissant,” or “blooming” and Spanish rulers called it “St. Ferdinand.” While it was a just typical French village of the time, it is now one of the oldest settlements in the state of Missouri. It offers several historical sites for visitors and residents to explore. Old Town also includes the historic district of Florissant.
